Clinical Neuropsychologist and Director

About Dr. Alcina
Dr. Jorge Alcina is a bilingual clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist who provides psychotherapy as well as psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for adults. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he provides care to adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related difficulties, substance use concerns, and cognitive or neurological changes.
Dr. Alcina completed advanced training in clinical neuropsychology at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA, where he completed both his clinical neuropsychology internship and postdoctoral fellowship. During this time, he gained extensive experience evaluating and treating individuals with complex psychiatric and neurological conditions across the adult lifespan. Prior to this, he earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University in Miami, FL and completed predoctoral clinical training at institutions including the University of Miami. Dr. Alcina has also published peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters on early cognitive and behavioral markers of cognitive decline and psychiatric disorders.
In psychotherapy, Dr. Alcina integrates evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). His work focuses on helping individuals better understand their experiences, develop practical skills for managing difficult emotions, and move toward lives that feel more meaningful and aligned with their values. Central to his approach is a collaborative therapeutic relationship in which clients can feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow.
As a neuropsychologist, Dr. Alcina conducts comprehensive evaluations for a range of neurological and medical conditions, including traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and cognitive changes associated with medical or psychiatric conditions. These evaluations are designed to clarify diagnosis, guide treatment planning, and help patients and their providers better understand changes in thinking, memory, and behavior.
Dr. Alcina is currently accepting new patients and provides services to individuals across Florida.
